The grand total of Expo visitors had reached 3.19 million by the 17th day. May 17 reported 233,500 visitors by 8:00 pm. 96,000 were group visitors, accounting for 41% of the total volume. 35,828 tickets were sold on site. The busiest entrances were Shangnan Rd, Gaoke Rd W, Houtan, and Changqing Rd, each reporting more than 30,000 visitors. Over 55,000 visitors passed through Houtan entrance.

A total of 118 performances were staged throughout the day. As of 5:00 pm, 94 shows had attracted 107,300 visitors. 6,004 volunteers helped on the Site. Expo Site transport ran orderly conveying 445,800 passengers by 6:00 pm. No major medical incident was reported. Five health clinics within the Site had received 180 visitors, with 45 minor injuries.
